A year ago I was asked, if I would be interested in doing a commissioned butterfly. In all honesty, I struggled with the concept of creating a piece from someone else’s vision. I hesitated, as I worried about not fulfilling someone else’s expectations and vision.

Then one day I realized, that the only expectation of me was to create a butterfly in my distinctive artistic style. I wasn’t told what shape, colour or size it should be. I wasn’t given a timeframe. What I was given, was an opportunity to create and think outside of my comfort zone, and it truly became a rewarding experience.
